Do you provide wedding packages?

NO.

Deux Belettes is a private country estate and venue that can cater for small and larger weddings. As a Venue Hire only it does not operate like a hotel or function centre.

We don’t provide packages. You will need to hire the wedding suppliers separately.  A wedding planner is a good place to start,  they’ll help you with the rest of your requirements and provide the necessary expertise and local knowledge.

There are many weddings and events suppliers in the Byron Bay and hinterland region that can assist you with all items from styling, planning, catering, florists etc. A web search will provide many options.

(We can’t list them all here and we don’t want to appear to be showing favouritism to any in particular). 

What is provided if I book Deux Belettes for my wedding?

A wedding at Deux Belettes – The French House,  provides you with the exclusive use of the grounds and facilities outside of the house.
ACCOMMODATION is not included in the venue hire but is available AS REQUIRED (for the bridal party only).

How much time is allocated with our venue hire?

When you book Deux Belettes, you hire the venue for initial delivery, set-up and removal of wedding supplies – usually 2 days before and 2 days after the wedding.

Is accommodation included with a wedding booking?

Accommodation is not included in the venue hire but is available as an extra cost if required for the bridal party only.

Can I view the property prior to making a decision to book?

Property viewings are by appointment only. Please contact us to arrange a suitable time.

How much notice do I need to give for a wedding booking?

We operate on a first come, first serve basis and we only host 12 weddings per year. So in order to secure your preferred date, it’s important to allow as much time in advance to book the venue as possible.

Not only that, you will need to hire/ book your wedding supplies to make sure they’re also available at the required time. An experienced wedding planner will help you with this.

Can I choose any day of the week to book my wedding?

Yes. Our venue can be booked for any day of the week. But, dates are subject to availability.

Transport recommendation to and from Deux Belettes for guests

Deux Belettes is 40 minutes drive from Byron Bay in the hinterland. As we’re located on a picturesque, winding country road, it is a requirement that your guests arrive by coach.

We’re also located:

Just 10 minutes from the village of Alstonville
20 minutes to Ballina/Byron airport.
30 minutes to Bangalow

We do have space for 6 parking – this is limited to the brial party/ elderly and nursing mothers.

We also have space for a helicopter to land – by prior arrangement.

What's the best time of year to get married in the Byron Bay hinterland?

Anytime, however be aware that December to February are hot and humid with resulting storms.

How many guests can we have?

We have approval for up to 100 guests in a marquee.

Do you accommodate small weddings / elopements?

Yes.

Deux Belettes has some beautiful spaces for small weddings.

How much does it cost to hire your venue?

Please see below wedding venue hire rates based on guest numbers.

Weddings for guest numbers up to 50 guests $6,000 (GST included)
Weddings for guest numbers up to 100 guests $10,000 (GST included)
For weddings with guest numbers over 100 $10,000 PLUS an additional charge of $50 per guest applies.

For example a wedding at Deux Belettes the venue hire 120 guest would be $11,000.

There are a number of local “approved” suppliers from which to choose with both licensed and BYO options available.
Please remember Deux Belettes is a venue only so we do not have “PACKAGES” – You are responsible for making arrangements and payment of all ancillary items required for your wedding including wedding co-ordination/planner, mini buses, marquee, catering, staffing, alcohol, hire equipment, styling, catering equipment [including a cool room], flowers, furniture, celebrant, public liability, hair and make up, etc. This means your budget can vary considerably depending on your choices and your unique way of celebrating.

Do you allow children?

Only those in the bridal party.

Children (except those of the bridal couple) are not catered for at Deux Belettes – very young babies may be cared for in the creche at no additional cost.  Deux Belettes is a working farm and the presence of an unfenced lake and drystone walls with loose rocks, makes the property unsuitable for children.

Can we have a rehearsal dinner?

Yes, you are most welcome to have your wedding rehearsal dinner at Deux Belettes.  The details can be worked out with your wedding planner once you’ve booked.

Can we have a live band / music?

Yes, but at the discretion of Deux Belettes.

Do you have any wet weather options?

Yes but you must have a marquee for more than 40 guests.

Can we use fireworks / sparklers/ candles etc?

Fireworks, sparklers and other incendaries – NO,  sorry.

Candles – yes, in appropriate containers.

Animals / lawn games?

Animlas are allowed only as part of the ceremony.

Lawn games – yes.

What is your payment and cancellation policy?

DEPOSIT:
Deux Belettes require a non refundable fee of $2,000 to hold your wedding date. Once you confirm you are proceeding your deposit of 50% of the venue hire is due within 4 weeks. The $2,000 will be deducted from your final payment. We will send our BSB and account details on receipt of your signed copy of the terms and conditions.  By paying a deposit you acknowledge and agree to have read and understood the terms and conditions as set out before you. Please forward your signed copy of these terms and conditions to DBM prior to payment of the deposit.
Please note: If the agreed number of guests is exceeded, the extra costs may be deducted from your bond.
Please note: Additional costs are the clients’ responsibility and we will seek to recover any extra fees should the costs exceed the Bond amount.

FINAL PAYMENT:
The balance of the payment must be made 14 days prior to the event. Please note that DBM accepts Direct Deposit only.

BOND:
A $3,000 bond must be received by Direct Deposit no less than 3 working days before the event. This is to cover removal of waste at a rate of $55 per 50 guests, any damage caused, emergency transport, or other unforseen requests during the event at Deux Belettes, together with Deux Belettes hire costs where appropriate. Should costs exceed the bond money paid, YOU AGREE you are LIABLE for ALL outstanding costs. DBM will seek to recover costs in full. Please provide your bank a/c details so the applicable remaining bond may be refunded 7 days after the event. DBM will contact you within 5 days after the event to discuss any claims that DBM wish to make.

CANCELLATIONS:
In the event of a cancellation by you a $550 administration fee will be retained. In addition to this DBM will retain fees as follows:
Outside 90 days 50% of the deposit
Inside 90 days No deposit refund
Within 7 days of event Full cost of the venue hire
